Morning Surprise Sky

Is there rain in my future? That would be nice.

Or as is so often the case in Kihei, close but not a drop.

Having never been to Hawaii, I live with the illusion that it is p-a-r-a-d-i-s-e, with a little rain each day! Don't tell me there are places there that need rain?

All of the main islands have a wet windward side and a dry leeward side caused by the wind diverting effect of the volcanic mountains. In regular trade wind weather most of the rain falls on the NE faces of the islands.

I live on the SW coast that has an average annual rainfall of about 12 inches, most of which comes in the winter low pressure systems that pass over us this time of year.
