Nice images! (No copyright issues with the Beatles song?)

I actually enjoy our frozen winters all the more because I know I can look forward to growing tropicals in the summer.

It's all about the 4 seasons, baby.

Thank you, Christopher - the music and the photos are appreciated as we begin the thaw. What we'll see here in a few days is a Mystery - but the Austin Garden Bloggers will no doubt take you on tour.

After 45 years in our ears, the Beatles still have something to say - guess that's why we never put away our framed 20th anniversary poster of Sgt Pepper, just move it from house to house.

Those would make cool retro posters -- like the ones we had in the 60's and 70's. And they'd go together perfectly with my lava lamps too.

I wondered a bit about the copyright too. Google I heard did a purge of sorts of infringing material when they bought YouTube.

I just went to YouTube, searched MMT and picked one from the first four pages I looked through of MMT and embedded it with their handy tool made for the purpose.

Lava lamps are back in fashion now!

Christopher -- Do you have a 60's/70's room in your apartment?

My friend Jim and I lived in a place that was built in 1973 (it still had the original Avocado Green refrigerator and stove in it too), so we decorated it in an eclectic style that successfully combined Classic with 60's/70's Retro -- complete with his collection of old vinyl music albums which were still in mint condition (he didn't save his 45's). We even had incense burning a lot of the time (not for the same reasons the hippies used to burn incense, though).

We only incorporated tasteful pieces -– not at all like a 70’s teenager’s first apartment. Like, there were no blacklight posters or anything -- not even a shag carpet. We decided to paint the walls a classic "warm white", so that all the detailed artwork wouldn't get "lost" or clash. We even managed to work in some classic art and classic antique furniture pieces -– and somehow it went together well.

Actually, he was the one who had the eye for selecting just the right pieces -- and some were made by artist friends of ours. I did more of the arranging. We both seemed to instantly like each other's selections/arrangements. It was perfect for us -- we felt so "at home" there, since he was born in '61 and I was born in '60.

Anyway, now I live in a late 1800's Victorian -- which is just as beautiful, but I can't see how to work the lava lamps into the decor. So, right now they're put away in a closet for future use.

My house wasn't built until 1990 and was affected by Hawaiian architechtural standards. It is not a 60/70's ranch motif in any way.

My art tends to the natural and the eccentric, not pop culture. The rooms in my house might best be described as dusty.
