The Big Fat Black Budda Belly Cat is named Darkie. He moved himself in with me 15 years ago when I got Greyman as a kitten. He felt that I put out a better buffet than his home across the street and was not to be disuaded in his decision about where he was going to live.
I would like to adopt a house-trained mellow adult cat for the companionship. I think kittens are very cute -- I always have the urge to pick them up and hold them and talk to them in silly baby talk. And I know I would get attached right away. But the reality is that I'm too exhausted when I get home from work to keep up with a kitten -- they're very wired up when they're little.
Right now it doesn't matter though, as the landlord has a strict "no pets" rule with all his tenants -- no exceptions.

Greyman is absolutely adorable. Who's the black cat we've seen in the other pictures?

Ah, so that's how Darkie got the Buddha belly...
Do you have other pets too?
