Crazed

It looked like the regular full moon as it rose in the evening sky over Haleakala. I was thinking it may have taken on some new warped dimension as it passed over Washington DC. What could account for the madness pouring out of the halls of Congress? The lock step message machine was off kilter. The Mighty Wurlitzer was spinning out talking points faster than facts could be invented.

Crazy, crazy for feeling so lonely
I'm crazy, crazy for feeling so blue
I knew you'd love me as long as you wanted
And then someday, you'd leave me for somebody new

Worry, why do I let myself worry?
Wond'ring, what in the world did I do?

Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying and crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you

Patsy Cline

The Full Karmic Gay Moon of "come back to bite you in the ass" had passed over the nations capital. Maybe it should have risen through a pink cloud or surrounded by the halo of a fairy ring created by high cirrus clouds, but it looked and moved just like all the other Full Moons.

It's a Full on Freak Show that passes for regular normal now. Crazy.

I love that song, but hate to blame the moon for the craziness. Although there's a long tradition of moon-madness, isn't there?

The following is related in a sort of strange way - the aGLIFF/Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival was held this week, and one of the films was the award-winning
"C.R.A.Z.Y.", from Canada, a coming of age and coming out story. I just read this review by Austin's own Jette right before coming to your post, which was odd. And the song was written by Willie Nelson, who has his homebase in Austin, but goes to Hawaii to play golf. Circles in circles.

Annie and Christopher, I read the review of "C.R.A.Z.Y."

I wanted to let you guys know that there's something else that's odd about the connections here -- eerie, in fact...

It says that Zac was born on Christmas Day, and later in the review it says that the movie spans from 1960 through 1980. If the movie begins on the day Zac was born -- that means he was born on Christmas Day in 1960.

That is the day I was born -- Christmas Day in 1960.

I don't know about you guys, but I think this post has "twilight zone" written all over it.

I'm a little bit country and love Patsy Cline. I had never heard of the movie C.R.A.Z.Y. It was a little trippy when I went to that link and the Google ad at the top was for a Patsy Cline ring tone. Then I read the review. I can see how circles upon circles can go bump in the night.

"I'm always walking after midnight searching,
I stopped to see a weeping willow
Crying on his pillow maybe he's crying for me
Night blooms will whisper to me
I go out walking after midnight out in the moonlight "

Walking after Midnight Christina here is a song that may have a little meaning for you.

Thanks for that, Christopher. Yes, that song does have meaning for me -- enough that it made tears well up in my eyes. For a person who places very high value on a simple way of life in a society that promotes material excess, finding a close companion who shares that value is rare enough. But then having the additional requirement of sharing an upside-down sleep schedule makes it a "one in a million" prospect. That's why I felt like my years with James were better than any material windfall could ever be.

By the way, the lyric "Night blooms will whisper to me" reminds me of something -- Did you take that walk up your driveway yet this evening to check out your Moon Flower vine?

My partner said it was supposed to be a particularly big harvest moon this year. He read that somewhere...not sure how the moon could ever be "particularly big". Anyhow, it caught my attention where I was too, and so he mentioned what he'd read. Great post!
