Big Forest Little Forest

Blogger photo uploading is working again. If I get bored and have time I will change the PhotoBucket pictures in the previous post. At the moment I am procrastinating from work. Yesterday was a very long day.

The big forest floor in a Pine and Turkey Oak forest Florida woods.

The little forest for your meditation pleasure. A collection and display of Bonsai at the North Carolina Arboretum.

I never would have thought there are forests like that in Florida. It looks just like home, and it gives me the urge to go hiking. The trouble is, with all the rain we've been getting here for the past couple of months, the mosquito population is huge this year. And they just found some mosquitoes in our area that are carrying the Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus.

That picture reminds me of something else too... I still kept my Hansel and Gretel book all these years. Just can't let go of the fairy tale dreams...

About the fairy tale thing... I forgot to mention, I don't believe in wicked stepmothers -- I've never met one before.

Speaking of fairy tales have I mentioned before that I was quite dismayed to learn that the myth of Cinderella was a big fat lie.

But there are fairy godmothers and gallant knights. As for noble princes... Well, I'm not certain they exist, but there sure are a lot of charming ones out there.
