Building a Web Site

The infamous Carlyle Group bought our phone company and now we are HawaiianTel. After nearly a year they are setting up their own independent server. In this process I lost the Verizon hosted web site for my Tropical Landscape Plant Nursery.

HawaiianTel's new Blog/Web service is much less dummy user friendly. I am in the process of re-creating the web site for Kihei Plant Productions. The site is live and is changing by the hour. Stop in for a peek if you like by clicking on the underlined name of my nursery.

Beautiful plants, Christopher. We don't see any like those here in New England -- at least not outdoors.

It must be wonderful to have your avocation and your vocation be one and the same.

Thanks Christina, I should spend more time outdoors with those gorgeous plants and less time in front of this computer. Definitely time for a break right now!

I haven't decided if I want to have a blog feature on my web site and to remove that look I took away the log in feature from the right hand column.

By clicking on "comments" or the "permalink" on Aggravated the comment section will open. Like here you would have to create an account I think. I am not sure what will happen since I removed the log in feature. Try it and see what happens.

I don't have a URL, because I don't have a web site and this isn't my computer. So I wasn't able to post there. When I get my own computer, how do I find out what my URL is?

Are you still going to keep this blog once you finish your web site?

Love your writing and your dry humor. Reading you today helped to give me a lift. And it was great picking up trash with you. It has been awhile since I was honked at so many times.

I have to run. Time to go to Kahului. Funny when I type Kahului I am reminded of a song. Anyway, thanks for your sensitive use of words.

When I check your Local Kihei Weather link in the Contact Information section of your web site, I'm continually surprised at how similar your weather there is to our weather in New England during this time of year -- the high and low temperatures, as well as the dew points are very close to ours.

Since my brother (the one who lived in Hilo for many years) seems to like pretty much any kind of weather, I didn't listen very well when he'd tell us how beautiful the weather is there; I just assumed it was extremely hot and humid, like a tropical rain forest would be.

Although October is by far the prettiest month in New England to look at -- with the gorgeous vivid colors of the Fall foliage here, the month of May is without question the most pleasant time of year here in terms of the average temperature and humidity. Does your weather in Hawaii stay that comfortable all year long?
